our deepest fear

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of the universe. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of the universe that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

My Story

I have been practicing NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) for 27 years in various landscapes and environments.

In the early 2000’s I independently owned and operated a consultation/psychotherapy clinic in Sydney’s northern suburbs.

From 2010 – 2023 I used NLP in a sports coaching setting teaching Kung Fu and BJJ to adults and children.

I have worked a great deal in the disabilities support sector over the years and more recently in acute and sub-acute mental health environments in a Correctional Centre setting and I volunteer as a youth mentor at Sydney high schools.

My education is in NLP (Neuro-linguistic Programming), Traditional Chinese Massage and Sports Coaching (specialising in martial arts).

Qualifications include:

  • NLP & Hypnosis Practitioner

  • NLP & Hypnosis Master Practitioner

  • NLP Life Coaching

  • NLP Psychotherapy

  • Medical Hypnosis

  • Diploma in Sports Coaching

  • Traditional Chinese Acupressure Massage

My main therapeutic methods are NLP alongside some hypnosis and - with a background in the Traditional Chinese diagnostic model - I use a conceptual and holistic approach to therapy.

I believe in the right of autonomy and independence.

I have always been drawn to helping people and have always been curious about how people have overcome significant life challenges.

In my teens I experienced chronic depression and dabbled with self medication which lead to substance abuse, then addiction.

In 1999, during my journey of overcoming addiction and depression I discovered NLP.

NLP changed my life and I wanted to help others experience such changes of their own.

I went on to study NLP in various layers and levels with Australia’s renowned NLP Master Trainer and therapist Robb Whitewood (whom we sadly lost in 2017).

Robb had decades of NLP therapeutic and coaching experience, a background in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a strong connection to Taoism and an internal moral compass like none other.

If I can do a fraction of what he did for the people he helped I will be happy.

Do you want someone with an honest and straight forward approach? Someone who can both confront you with truth and help you overcome your challenges?

I have experience navigating and treating substance abuse, depression, anxiety, toxic and dangerous relationships, PTSD/CPTSD and anger.

I also have decades of first hand experience maintaining diet and training regimes and more recently competing as an amateur athlete.

I have a unique set of life experiences and education that can truly help you overcome your obstacles in ways that are best for you.

What is NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming)?

Neuro-Linguistic Programming is a practical system for understanding how you think, communicate, and act.

The name breaks down into three simple parts:

  • Neuro: How your brain and nervous system process your daily experiences.

  • Linguistic: How you use language to make sense of the world and talk to others.

  • Programming: The habit patterns and routines you create over time.

How NLP Solves Problems

Instead of spending months digging into past trauma, NLP looks at how a problem happens right now.

By focusing on the present mechanics of an issue, you can spot the mental filters that hold you back and replace them with empowering habits. These patterns shape our entire human experience.

The Filters of Perception

We experience the world through specific mental filters. These filters shape our internal thoughts, actions, and speech:

  • Senses: Visual, auditory, kinesthetic, olfactory, and gustatory inputs.

  • Core Drivers: Decisions, values, and beliefs.

  • Mental Habits: Deletions, generalizations, and memory storage.

  • Deep Patterns: Meta-programs and significant life events.

Trained practitioners listen to the words you use in everyday conversation. They spot these filters in your speech to help you reframe challenges and create positive change.

The Path of Transformation

In mathematics and geometry, a parabola is a beautiful, universal curve. But in ancient philosophy and esoteric traditions, it carries a much deeper meaning: it is the perfect map of the human soul journey.

When you look at a parabola, you see an arc that descends to its lowest point—the vertex—before pivoting and rising sharply into a brand-new trajectory.

This geometric path mirrors the exact journey of deep psychological healing and personal growth with neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) counselling.

Navigating the Arc of Descent

Most people seek support when they feel themselves sliding down this arc. You might be experiencing a crisis, confronting old trauma, or watching your usual coping mechanisms fail. This descent can feel frightening and isolating, but it is not a dead end. In our therapeutic space, we view this descent not as a failure, but as the natural gathering of momentum required for a profound shift.

Finding the Vertex (The Turning Point)

The absolute bottom of the curve is the vertex. In therapy, this is our point of breakthrough. It is the exact moment where we pause, interrupt old, automated behavioral patterns, and face what is truly holding you back. By utilising NLP techniques, cognitive reframing, and psychotherapy, we transform this "lowest point" into a sacred pivot—the precise coordinates where your old story ends and your healing begins.

The Power of the Focus Point

A unique physical property of a parabolic mirror is its ability to take scattered, chaotic rays of light and reflect them perfectly into a single, concentrated point called the focus.

When you feel fragmented, overwhelmed, or pulled in a dozen different directions by conflicting thoughts, our work together acts as that parabolic mirror. We gather your scattered internal resources, align your conscious and unconscious minds, and channel your energy toward a single, empowering outcome: your total integration and clarity.

Ascending to a Higher Perspective

The final stage of the parabola is the upward swing. As you ascend, you do not simply return to where you started. Equipped with new neurological wiring, deeply rooted resilience, and an expanded understanding of your identity, you rise higher. You begin to see that your temporary struggles were simply a physical vessel for a permanent, beautiful evolution of self.

Are you ready to find your turning point?

Whether you are currently navigating the descent or standing at the vertex looking for a way forward, I am here to guide your transition from breakthrough to ascent. Let’s connect and begin your journey today.
